Silas the Fattened King

A vagabond who sought shelter from a storm in a large animal burrow and found a set of stairs leading down. In the chapel of an obscure bacchanalian cult he found the Gourmand's Cutlery and a statue that compelled him to use it. Silas was overcome. All he wants to do is eat. He compelled two Fleshy Automatons to feed him — now they create more of their kind, kidnapping people to bring back to the Fattened King.

Redolent in travesty, the bloated form of Silas fills the chamber. Too large to fit through the door — he waits for the Fleshy Automatons to feed him. The Gourmand's Cutlery looks tiny in his swollen, greasy hands.

Stat block: HP 20, Morale 9, No armour, Cutlery d4 + Engulf

  • Engulf. On hit, DR10 Strength or be partially swallowed for d6 chewing damage.
  • Flatulence. When Silas takes damage he loses control of his body. All in the room test Toughness DR14 or gag for d3 rounds, increasing all tests by +2 DR (cumulative).

The Tongue-Knife in the Sewage Pit

"The only thing Silas can't digest is metal." Beneath the sludge of his chamber lie d6 silver and a long, curved knife shaped like a tongue.

Tongue-shaped Knife — d6 damage. On a hit, the target becomes ravenously hungry and desperately thirsty. They must eat and drink within the hour or die. A relic of the Goddess of Fat and Plenty cult, swallowed and forgotten, waiting in his filth for the next mouth.

Gaps / Expansion Notes

Whether killing Silas frees the Cutlery's compulsion is open. Whether the Fleshy Automatons disperse, or simply seek a new Fattened King, is GM-decision. The tongue-knife's compulsion mirrors the Cutlery's — it may have been cult issue from the same chapel, predating Silas.
