Urvan Krat
the alchemist father, three times useless
Father, mentor, and teacher to Nagel Krat. Perished due to poison planted in his medication by an unidentified assassin (a convenient mystery from which Nagel benefits). Despite fulfilling a threefold role in Nagel's life, Urvan was never very good at any of them.
His body lies in the basement of the Derelict Mill — heavily disfigured, bloody, and rotting. Nagel recently took some anger out on the corpse.
Search of the body yields:
- A vial of sour yellow liquid (alchemical pain remedy: heals d6+1, dulls senses, −2 Presence for 1 hour)
- A spare key, hidden in his boot. Activates the Goblin Grinder.
He was the original owner of the mill. Whether he knew of the Goblin Grinder device before death — and what he intended to do with it — is unwritten.
The actual assassin is undefined — possibly Nagel hired the work out, possibly an unrelated enemy beat him to it. Urvan's career, his original alchemy practice, and what the mill once produced are all open.
