Creton Order
The monastic order to which Anuk Schleger belonged when, in the year 565, he encountered the basilisk Verhu and transcribed the Nameless Scriptures. Three centuries later an orthodox branch of the same order — the Two-Headed Basilisks masons — uncovered Schleger's tomb beneath the new Cathedral construction and recovered the lost texts. That orthodox branch became the dominant faith and built its temple over the find: the Cathedral of the Two-Headed Basilisks in Galgenbeck.
In The Death Ziggurat the order is spelled Cretun. The same body that founded the orthodox branch produced "unsung knights of the Cretun order" who subdued Akünh and bound her into the Death Realm in a ziggurat deep within Sarkash centuries ago. In the present they hire adventurers to investigate signs of her demonic escape — "Find the ziggurat and stop the demon from laying waste to our world before the true time!"

Whether the original Creton order survives independently of the Two-Headed Basilisks splinter — and whether the demon-binding knights still operate — is significant open territory. The Death Ziggurat scenario implies they still hire agents from Galgenbeck. Whether the modern hierarchs of the order know they share roots with the orthodox cult is undefined.
