Merchant Inventory — Mikhael's Wares
Mikhael the Merchant carries different goods depending on what region he is found in. Roll a d6 per region per visit. Every purchase costs a portion of the buyer's soul (d6: −1 Strength / Presence / Agility / Toughness / Max HP / roll twice). He buys rare or magickal items by adding to the same table.
Tveland Wares
- Stone Dagger — d4 damage. DR12 Strength to plunge it into a living creature; the creature instantly turns to stone. Removing the dagger restores them.
- Tongue of a False Prophet — consuming it allows casting Powers at DR6 for one day, but any failure causes an arcane catastrophe.
- Two-headed Silver Ring — silver ring in the shape of twin basilisk heads. Wearing it increases crit and fumble range by 1. Multiple rings stack.
- Vial of Goblin Ichor — grows hot when goblins are about. Adding a drop of cursed blood causes the mixture to bead up, pointing toward the goblin that cursed you.
- Wickhead Brain — rubbed, emits torchlight. Extremely fragile; if broken everyone must succeed a DR12 Toughness test or be blinded for one round.
- Galgenbeck Deathmask — stolen from an esteemed priest's sarcophagus. Placed on a corpse, allows you to see how it died. Considered heretical theft if caught with it.
Wästland Wares
- Pouch of Valley Vapors — strange ashy vapors not made for living lungs. Breathing them replenishes all HP and cures infection but leaves you catatonic for d4 hours.
- Jar of Troll Piss — when spilled on the ground, ensures no beast dare approach. Allows safe camp. Might attract a territorial Troll.
- Fine but Gaudy Clothing — allows you to pass as nobility, or as a moderately ranked official with a DR10 Presence test. Mercilessly mocked by common folk and outcasts; bandits will always attack on sight.
- Pilgrim's Compass — small bloodstained compass. Its needle always points to the most dangerous thing to your life in the immediate vicinity.
- Peasant's Kuksa — wooden cup carved from fine birch burl. Any liquid scooped by the cup turns into adequate drinking water.
- Lucky Fishing Spear — when thrown into a body of water, is guaranteed to strike a living creature. Will instantly kill fish. Might strike much larger creatures. Damage d6.
Kergüs Wares
- Vibrant Red Ribbon — when worn, all colour drains from your vision. The world is black and white but you see the pulsating heartbeats of living creatures as splashes of red. See the living in complete darkness.
- Vial of Glowing Blue Blood — drawn from deep within Kergüs itself. May be used as poison; freezes the veins solid, victim dies painfully in d4 rounds. DR16 Toughness to resist.
- Gleaming Golden Scalpel — shining, viciously sharp. DR8 to attack, d4 damage. May attempt to surgically open a vein mid-combat with a self-imposed DR+ penalty; if you succeed add that number to your damage.
- Pleasing Green Cloak — viridian, unknown make. Protects against the elements remarkably well. Never feel too cold or hot. Very itchy.
- One-eyed One-legged One-winged Gull — needs to be fed a ration daily. Squawks loudly and irritatingly. Utterly useless and never leaves your side. Allows you to reroll your omens gained when resting.
- Bright Yellow Flower — sunny, sweet smelling, never withers. Given as a token of affection, the recipient becomes extremely agreeable to the next thing you say.
Grift Wares
- Little Poppet — small sack doll filled with hay. Allows casting a unique Power: peer into the mind of one person whose eyes you can see; know their thoughts, intentions, and immediate next action.
- Key Retrieved from the Múr — any door opened with this blackened key leads to a 15ft × 15ft stone room, openable only from the outside. Living creatures trapped inside die after 24 hours due to lack of oxygen.
- Chip, the Rat — unusually intelligent rat; loves you unconditionally on purchase. Will chitter in your ear and dance on its hind legs to lift your spirits. HP 4, Morale − (too loving to leave), Bite d2 always causes infection, very small, DR16 to hit. Roll an additional d4 hp when resting.
- Sorrowful Music Box — plays extremely sad music. Listeners cannot lie unless they pass DR12 Presence. Affected sob uncontrollably.
- Hangman's Rope — a 30ft length. Fuses permanently to whatever it is tied to. Immune to all force, cannot be undone, cannot be severed.
- Giant's Chisel — d4 damage, sized like a shortsword. Instead of attacking, attempt to dislodge enemy armor with DR14 Strength; success lowers their armor by one tier.
Gaps / Expansion Notes
Wares from other regions (Sarkash, Bergen Chrypt, Alliáns, Endless Sea, Valley of the Unfortunate Undead) are conspicuously absent — Mikhael does not visit them, or his inventory there is unwritten. Expansion seed.
