The Plant of Life

giant pulsing cactus, every color, growing into Hell

The Plant of Life lies deep within Devil's Tomb in Graven-Tosk. The passage to it is only visible if viewed through the Icon of St Largoth's Eyes. Spores and vines fill the room around it.

A giant, pulsing cactus in every color. Tendrils grow from its top, swaying in the spore-filled air. Anyone in the vicinity must pass a DR12 Agility or be grabbed by a tendril. Then test DR14 Strength or be dragged into the plant's mouth, taking d6 damage per round until the Strength test is passed or the tendril chopped off.

HP 30. Upon death, all the vines turn into black metal and the angelic faces into skulls. Big: impossible to miss.

The Drowned worship it as their god, and its "angelic children" — the bulbous angel-faced flowers along the Angelic Choir corridor — sing wordless songs (Presence DR10 or loudly sing along for a minute). Spores it releases throughout the tomb cause visions of death, vertigo, monochromatic outlining, or invisibility-of-the-living.

Gaps / Expansion Notes

Why the Plant grows here, and whether killing it actually ends the Drowned's exile or merely orphans them, is open. The angelic faces becoming skulls on the plant's death is iconic and unexplained.
