SHE
The first of the basilisks. When the world was but water, dust, and clouds thick with plague-fat flies, she crawled from the cracks of Bergen Chrypt. She bears two heads: Lusi, the head of Denial, who looks up and down ("yet all shall be well"); and Arkh, the head of Deception, who claims to be the first prophet of truths now prostituted by Verhu.
She spawned many basilisks since the dawn of time, their conceptions not without agony. All were cast down the cliffs of Bergen Chrypt. Only HE survived. She is the oldest. Few have ever seen her.
At Misery 2:6 "SHE shall see HIM grow stronger. And SHE reveals herself and all shall be slain."
She also bedded a demonic being from a parallel world of undeath, conceiving Akünh — see Death Ziggurat.
She is also the slayer of the Dead Gods — ten named entities she killed within the Bergen Chrypt, leaving their prophets to wander mad with rotted gospel.

Almost no one has seen her — she is by design a rumor. The "twin paths" of Lusi and Arkh that "many walk" suggest a heretical or pre-Verhu faith somewhere underground. Other surviving spawn besides HE and Akünh are alluded to but undocumented. Her actual physical form when she reveals herself at 2:6 is undescribed.
