Bloat — A Gluttonous Dungeon

Silas, a vagabond, sought shelter from a storm in a large animal burrow. To his surprise he found a set of stairs leading to an underground labyrinth, once the home of an obscure cult of bacchanalian priests dedicated to a Goddess of Fat and Plenty. In the chapel he found a beautiful knife and fork — the Gourmand's Cutlery — and a statue that compelled him to use them.

The Cutlery allows the wielder to eat anything. Which is good, as the user becomes famished and must eat. Luckily, everything tastes wonderful. Silas was overcome. All he wants to do is eat. He compelled two Fleshy Automatons of the labyrinth to serve him; now they are creating more of their kind, kidnapping people to feed to their Fattened King.

The hook can be the disappeared villagers' relatives or lords; the PCs stumbling on the burrow while hiding from brigands or inquisitors; or someone hunting Silas the Fattened King specifically.

Six rooms: the Vestibule (cramped, ratbadger-dug crawlspace where armor won't fit); the Rotting Larder (where Fleshy Automatons prepare gourmet feasts of decayed meat); the Sewage Pit (where Silas's filth has become a sentient sludge — a Fecal Acid creature that cannot be killed, only dispersed with water); the Chapel of Filth (statue of a corpulent woman with opal eyes — look into them and you must visit Silas as priest); Automaton Storage (where bodies are made into automatons in huge vats of rendered fat); and The Fattened King — Silas himself, too large to fit through the door, fed by his automatons, wielding the Cutlery, with the moves Engulf and Flatulence.

Hidden under the Sewage Pit's sludge: d6 silver and a curved tongue-shaped knife (d6 damage, on hit makes the target ravenously hungry and desperately thirsty — must eat and drink within the hour or die).

Gaps / Expansion Notes

The Goddess of Fat and Plenty is named only by domain — no proper name. The bacchanalian priests' history, their disappearance, and the labyrinth's geographic placement are all open.
