The Accursed Den
An infamous underground locale, a place no free man would willingly go. Hidden inside, the lost heir of the Shadow King — Aldon — is imprisoned. The cannibal warlock Fletcher rules the den, having been hurled into it by his necromancer masters and ruled it ever since by sheer will. He uses Aldon as leverage against the Shadow King.
The den is a fifteen-room complex above a foul lake of sulfuric, scalding ooze called the Rotblack Sludge, in which the colossal worm-creature called the Gutworm hides. Cells of mad prisoners; a chamber of three slumbering skeletons and a Tired Crystal Demon; a sad bearded man in a dining hall; a greenhouse where Lesdy keeps her three young "hosts" and reads alone; a statue of King Lenard II one-eyed; a sons' chamber where Aldon gnaws bones; the forge-slaughterhouse where Fletcher hangs human flesh on hooks.
Visitors may also encounter Sagsobuth, the shapeless interdimensional trader who appears unbidden, selling violet poison and protean scrolls.

The den's geographic location is not given — only that it is "underground" and reachable from the Shadow King's court. The history before Fletcher (it was a hellhole even before him) is unwritten. King Lenard II, whose black statue stands here, is otherwise unknown — possibly a former Shadow King or an unrelated dynasty.
