The Inquisition
The enforcement arm of the Two-Headed Basilisks. Heretics and apostates are hunted down and corrected, in public and at length. To take one's own life is considered sinful cowardice — so the Inquisition is not too keen on the heretical suicide scheme of King Sigfúm the Kind in Grift.
The road to salvation lies through mortification of the flesh; the apocalypse is to be met with eyes wide open. Only then can the soul be allowed passage to the Shimmering Fields.
A face flayed from a "known and liked/despised witch-hunter" appears in the contents-of-pockets table — suggesting the Inquisition's agents are recognizable enough to be murdered for their identity.

Inquisitorial hierarchy, ranks, special detachments, and signature methods are unwritten. Their attitude toward Verhu-skeptics, Lusi-cultists, Arkh-cultists, Gorgh heretics, and the death-cults of the Death Ziggurat is implied (intolerant) but unscripted. The Forlorn Philosopher (origin 7) was tortured by "Udok cultists" — possibly an Inquisitorial sub-order or a rival heresy.
