Pit to Hell
A bottomless chasm in Devil's Tomb, leading straight to the fiery torture-realms of Hell. Fall and die — no save, no roll.
A narrow bridge crosses the pit. On the far side stands a greenish bronze door, locked with heavy chains, written upon in blood: GO TO NECH. The water flooding the upper Drowned-level of the tomb pours over the edge here, becoming a small waterfall down the pit.
The Drowned do not cross. The Madman crawls nowhere near it. Whatever the cult that originally carved the hellhole was doing here is gone; the pit is what they left behind, and the chained door is the question they never answered.
Devil's Tomb, Graven-Tosk, Drowned, Nechrubel (the "NECH" of the inscription), Plant of Life
The adventure's greatest unwritten promise: what lies beyond the GO TO NECH chained door. Likely a passage to Nechrubel or one of his servitors; possibly only a deeper level of the Hell below. The fiery torture-realms themselves are unmapped. A campaign could make this the actual ending.
