The Wrong Jesus Crucifix

"666" — the cross of the smothered messiah

Used in encounters with the undead — and lesser trolls and goblins. Check Morale (add or subtract the Heretical Priest's Presence modifier) to see if the creatures bow and kindly remove themselves.

The figure on the cross is wrong. Not the saviour the Two-Headed Basilisks teach. Not the gaunt prophet in any orthodox iconography. Someone else. Someone smothered — and yet the undead and the lesser things still bow when shown his face. They remember him. They were here when he died.

[CANON CHECK: the source numbers this gift "666" rather than the expected 6, and the entry's heading reads "666 (wrong Jesus) crucifix". Preserved.]

Connections

Heretical Priest, Two-Headed Basilisks, Dead Gods (parallel slain-god seed), Dead God's Prophet

Gaps / Expansion Notes

Wrong Jesus implies a parallel messiah whose iconography survives only in heretic hands. The "666" numbering is mechanically odd and thematically loaded. Connection to SHE (who slew Dead God's Prophet's god) or to the Dead Gods generally is implicit and unspelled. A whole cult-faction — the Smothered Brethren, the Hour-Sixth Confessors — could be drawn from this object alone.
