When the Esoteric Hermit opens the Book of Boiling Blood and reads aloud, d2 Berserker-Slayers may be torn from a forgotten dimension of blood and dropped into the room. On d6 1–4 they fight beside the reader; on 5–6 they turn on the reader and the book, intent on destroying both. After the battle they return to whatever imprisonment held them.

Statistically they are Berserkers (Zukuma): HP 13, Morale 9, hardened skin −d2, attacking twice per round, no time for defence (dr10 to hit). Whether they are the same beings as the catacomb-Berserkers — pulled from this world into the bleeding dimension and pulled back out — or a parallel cohort born in the blood, the book does not say.

Gaps / Expansion Notes

The forgotten dimension of blood is named only here — a prison-realm where these things wait between summons. Who built the prison, and whose blood it is built from, is the seed. The name Berserker-Slayers (vs. Berserkers) implies they kill berserkers — yet their stat block is identical. Perhaps they are slayers of themselves.
