Lentil Lice
at least not until you're dead
HP 4, Morale 7, Knife/Femur d4
No silly, Lentil Lice don't actually eat you from the inside. At least not until you're dead. 'Til then they just wait.
Lentil Lice are the size of rice, so you'll need at least a corpse's worth to feed a hungry party. Lucky that you found one. Unlucky that someone else found it first.
Special: A find triggers a fight against d6 starved peasants (stats above: HP 4, Morale 7, Knife/Femur d4) competing for the same corpse-meal.
Lore: The lice live in the meat and wait. They have no quarrel with the living host. The living host is, in their patient view, a temporary state. Grift's poor know to check a corpse for them and to keep a femur in hand. The lice are good eating, if you can get to them first.
Whether the lice are infesting a fresh corpse on contact or have been riding the host for years is unwritten. The starved peasants are the real encounter — the lice are dressing.
